--Whole wheat penne with tomato basil sauce from Pasteria in North Market is a tasty and healthy lunch.
--It only costs 25 cents to get 75 minutes parking at the meters at North Bank Park.
--I still love my car. It begs to be driven around downtown.
--Chuck Norris once clipped an unruly beard hair and discarded it in the ocean. 23 years later it came back to the USA and he named it Michael Phelps. The rest was history.

Harold Ickes is a tool
Reading the terribly-written documentation for my new camera (D300, w00t!) and paying half attention to Meet the Press. Harold Ickes, Senior Advisor for the Clinton campaign is bitching about Michigan's delegates only being seated for a portion of their original worth. Cut to video of Hillary from 3 months ago declaring that Michigan votes should not and would not count since they broke the rules for polling dates. Oh, but she won! She crushed Obama in MI! By what margin? Don't know, he wasn't on the ticket because he respected the DNC's declaration that it would be an invalid primary. A conversation I've had with my brother comes to mind.
Me: Is hunting a sport?
Jon: I can't consider anything a sport where one of the teams doesn't know they're playing.
Had Obama's name been on the ballot something tells me that Hillary wouldn't be fighting so hard to get those results counted. The fact that Obama's campaign was willing to concede any votes from MI to HRC shows the spirit of party healing the Democratic Party needs right now if they want any chance of winning the general election. This is a stark contrast to the desperate, pathetic attempts of Hillary to cling to a nomination that is out of her reach.
I swear John McCain is funding her continued efforts to win the nomination. He's getting the best of this primary.

Back in NYC for the week
In NYC for work this Tuesday-Friday so I figured I may as well take advantage of the long weekend and head out Friday straight from work. My plan is to finish book VII of the Dark Tower while I'm here. Most likely at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza.
Was able to get a 2nd row balcony seat to see Spring Awakening last night. While last night's performance wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, it wasn't as good as the first time I saw it. I may be wrong but it seems they've changed some aspects of the performance in terms of blocking that were almost insulting the viewers intelligence. Specifically during 'The Dark I Know Well'. Oh well, still a great show.

Home sick and starting a blog
Chapter 9: So close
Originally uploaded by DerDrache
The shot to your right is from a tiny epic quest I embarked on earlier today. Since completing the 365 project I've intentionally taken a few days to unwind and not shoot anything with the idea being that once I'm shooting what I want and not what I feel obligated to my quality of work would improve. Today's little experiment was of little artistic merit but I must admit I had fun writing the really stupid accompanying story. That might be what kick-started me into this newest adventure. A few things are for sure:
1) I am not going to give myself any rules for this blog. Rules and obligations are what took the fun out of the 365 project for me.
2) See rule number 1.
That said, I have no direction or ideas for this blog. At this point it will just serve as a sounding board for whoever is willing to listen. I'm hoping it will actually evolve into something intelligible and possibly serve a resource to individuals with similar interests. If I had to tell you now what to expect I'd say there are a few subjects that will most certainly come up. Namely photography, music, local art and Columbus local events. This list is not meant to be all-inclusive.
